PJSC "Kurganmashzavod", part of the "High-Precision Systems" holding of Rostec, has delivered a fresh batch of Infantry Fighting Vehicles (BMP-3) to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, as well as those that have undergone major repairs. This year, the company has already exceeded its armored vehicle production plans by 120%, emphasizing the high pace of production.
Each BMP-3 unit is equipped with mandatory additional protection kits (KDZ), including grilles and armored screens. This year, their production has increased 30-fold compared to the previous year. In addition, additional protection kits are also supplied under the state defense order (GOZ) as separate components.
The finished product from Kurganmashzavod is delivered to the Ministry of Defense every month.
To ensure that the state defense order is carried out rhythmically, we are building clear cooperation ties with component suppliers, carrying out technical re-equipment of production, improving the management structure, and recruiting personnel
The BMP-3, developed by the Special Design Bureau of Mechanical Engineering in the second half of the 1980s, has a capacity of up to three crew members and up to seven paratroopers, and its maximum speed on the highway is 70 km/h. The new BMP-3s are equipped with mounting elements for навесных комплектов dynamic protection kits, which, due to counter-explosion, reduces the penetration ability of a projectile that hits the vehicle. These kits can be equipped independently using the instructions. Modern BMP-3s are equipped with the Sodema gunner-operator sight.
This week, the armed forces also received deliveries of advanced BMP-2M "Berezhok".
