New Batch of Advanced BMP-3 with Enhanced Protection Enters Service

Kurganmashzavod's production is 120% ahead of schedule, providing the Russian army with advanced military equipment in a timely manner

PJSC "Kurganmashzavod", part of the "High-Precision Systems" holding of Rostec, has delivered a fresh batch of Infantry Fighting Vehicles (BMP-3) to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, as well as those that have undergone major repairs. This year, the company has already exceeded its armored vehicle production plans by 120%, emphasizing the high rate of production.

Each BMP-3 unit is equipped with mandatory sets of additional protection (KDZ), including grilles and armored screens. This year, their production has increased 30-fold compared to the previous year. In addition, additional protection kits are also supplied under the state defense order (GOZ) as separate components.

Finished products from Kurganmashzavod are delivered to the Ministry of Defense every month.

To ensure that the state defense order is carried out rhythmically, we are building clear cooperation ties with component suppliers, carrying out technical re-equipment of production, improving the management structure, and recruiting personnel
Executive Director of PJSC "Kurganmashzavod" Igor Giske

The BMP-3, developed in the Special Design Bureau of Mechanical Engineering in the second half of the 1980s, has a capacity of up to three crew members and up to seven paratroopers, and its maximum speed on the highway is 70 km/h. The new BMP-3s are equipped with mounting elements for навесных комплектов dynamic protection kits, which reduce the penetration capability of a projectile that hits the vehicle due to counter-explosion. These kits can be equipped independently using the instructions. Modern BMP-3s are equipped with a Sodema gunner-operator sight.

This week, the armed forces also received deliveries of advanced BMP-2M "Berezhok".
