According to "Autostat", high car sales in Russia in August and a simultaneous drop in sales in European countries allowed the domestic car market to enter the top 3 in Europe. Thus, in August, Russia overtook the UK and Italy in terms of new car sales.
The top 3 is headed by the traditional leader – Germany. In August, 273,417 cars were sold in this country. France is in second place with 113,599 units. In Russia, 109,731 cars were sold in August, which is a 2.6-fold increase year-on-year. Next comes the UK, whose dealers sold 85,657 cars. Italy showed the fifth result – 79,756 cars sold.
As a reminder, AvtoVAZ previously reported record sales. In August, official Lada dealers sold 33,325 commercial and passenger cars. And this is not only the best result in 2023, but also a new absolute maximum since July 2021.
