The Russian company 'Beshtau' has embarked on the implementation of an ambitious plan - the creation of Russia's first factory where laptops consisting of components of its own production will be made. The project, valued at 8 billion rubles, is planned for 2025 in the city of Rostov-on-Don, as reported by TASS.
A symbolic start was given to the construction of the factory on Dovatora Street, where the governor of the Rostov region, Vasily Golubev, and the CEO of 'Beshtau', Oleg Osipov, installed a commemorative plaque on a stone pedestal in the form of a laptop.
Golubev emphasized that ensuring technological sovereignty is a relevant task for the country. He expressed confidence that the 'Beshtau' factory would not just expand production capacities, but would also become a source of new, highly demanded products, including computer equipment and lithium-ion batteries.
According to official information, the investment project includes the construction of five complexes with a total area of about 9 thousand square meters. The factory will focus on producing laptops assembled from parts of its own manufacture, as well as on the production of lithium-ion batteries and electronic boards. The project also plans to create more than 700 new jobs, which will have a positive impact on employment in the region.
'Beshtau' is a key player in the production of electronics and computer equipment in Rostov-on-Don and Essentuki. The company has already launched production of electronic boards for electronic products in 2022. It is planned to produce 200,000 units of equipment this year.
