AvtoVAZ announced today the restart of Lada Largus production, which was halted in the spring of last year. Initially, the assembly was planned to resume in September, but AvtoVAZ managed to do it earlier.
A total of 650 Lada Largus vehicles of various modifications are planned to be produced in August 2023. This number will also include vehicle kits for a pilot batch of LADA e-Largus electric vehicles, which will be assembled in Izhevsk by the end of this year.
The plant will also assemble several bodies, which will subsequently be used to adjust the technological equipment for the serial assembly of the station wagon. Mass production of Lada Largus will begin in 2024 – after the corresponding equipment is transferred to the plant in Izhevsk (where Lada Vesta was previously assembled).
The break in Largus production [from September 2023 to the second quarter of 2024] will also allow Russian suppliers to master an additional range of components to increase technological sovereignty for this model.
