RIA «News» reported details about the launch of the first lunar mission in the history of modern Russia. Thus, it is reported that the launch of the Soyuz-2.1b rocket with the Fregat upper stage and the automatic probe Luna-25 on board will take place at the East at 2:10.57 Moscow time. Standby launch time is at 2.35 on August 12.
After the start, already in space, the upper stage should put Luna-25 on the trajectory to Earth's natural satellite. It will last about 4.5 days. After that, the probe will enter the moon's orbit and will change it until it lands. Earlier in Roskosmos, the success of the mission was estimated at 70% - simply because at the specified place of the moon this will be the first landing. According to the plan, the station should work on the Moon for a year.
Meanwhile, the country is already working on new lunar vehicles - the orbital Luna-26 and the landing Luna-27. Their launch is planned for 2027 and 2028. Luna-27 will be equipped with a drill to take regolith samples.
