By 2030 in Russia, new drones and technologies for them should be created. Almost 50 billion rubles are planned to be allocated for this

It is planned to develop new power units, new materials for the fuselage, new navigation systems and integrate 5G support into drones

Russia is seriously taking on drones. As "Vedomosti" writes refering to a document called "Prospective technologies for unmanned aviation systems (UAS)", 49 billion rubles are planned to be allocated for new technologies for creating advanced drones (launch, landing systems, high-power batteries, etc.) by 2030. Of these, 4.6 billion will be allocated already in 2024.

"Prospective technologies for unmanned aviation systems (UAS)" - is a part of the drone development project, which by order of Vladimir Putin should be approved by September 2023. The Ministry of Science and Higher Education is responsible for the implementation of the Fedproject.

The first direction in the passport of the Fedproject is indicated as "Technologies, layouts and principles of movement of UAS", for this 2.6 billion rubles are allocated until 2030. The work on this direction assumes that during this period new UAS layouts, engines and take-off and landing technologies should be developed.

The second direction - "Energy and power installations" - assumes the development of high-power energy-intensive batteries for providing high energy consumption during maneuvers. This should increase the range of UAVs by 1.5 times compared to currently available systems, states the document. 4.8 billion rubles are provided for this in the fedproject until 2030.

6.7 billion rubles will be allocated for the direction "Navigation, radionavigation technologies" until 2030. Also by 2030, new manufacturing technologies and samples of new materials for the fuselages, flight controllers, 4G/5G network connection systems etc. should appear.
