In Russia, the EP2DM electric train from the Demikhovo Machine-Building Plant has been certified. The advanced "electric train" can now be mass-produced for 5 years and supplied to the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union.
The EP2D series "electric trains" are well known in the country, but the EP2DM has a lot of new features, including interior and exterior. The face of the leading car in a new form provides improved aerodynamics and visibility. Inside are sofas with an improved design and increased distance. The salons are equipped with large screens, LED lighting, a surveillance system and Wi-Fi, and in the leading cars, conditions are provided for passengers with limited mobility.
In addition, the EP2DM is a maximally localized version of the "electric train". In the previous version, there were about 180 imported components (including traction motors and a fast-action switch made by the Riga Electric Machine Building Plant), but now, apparently, they have been replaced with domestic ones.
