The 'Autopotok' Telegram channel reported that the Iranian automaker Kerman Motor, also known as KMC, will enter the Russian market. The company will debut with the JAC J4 model. Once it was a 'Chinese' (in China, the car was produced from 2012 to 2019 under the name JAC Heyue A30), but now in Iran, it has achieved 70% import substitution.
In fact, Kerman Motor plans to enter the CIS markets with JAC J4, but Russia is obviously a priority. The sedan's technology is simple and typical for Iranian cars: a 1.5-liter atmospheric engine with a power of 113 hp is paired with a 5-speed manual or a variator.
Interestingly, in Iran, they plan to build their own car based on the JAC J4, which is currently labeled as Kerman PS1.
