Two more ATMs of domestic production have appeared in Russia. The devices operate under the control of domestic software and are built on a domestic hardware platform with an 'Elbrus' processor.
In terms of functionality, the new items do not differ from foreign counterparts. There is a large touchscreen, built-in camera for security, QR-code scanner.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is considering the introduction of a points system for a number of devices, including ATMs.
In recent years, the points system has proven itself to be an effective mechanism. It allows for an objective assessment of the level of localization and does not allow foreign companies to receive government support measures. With its help, domestic companies gain access to preferences that facilitate the accelerated development of production in Russia.
It is planned to further expand the list of products subject to the point system. For example, a project to implement the points system for the assessment of medical equipment localization has been submitted to the government. In addition, our department today put forward for public discussion a project to regulate the requirements for printers and banking equipment. In terms of banking equipment, we have developed the project with the Central Bank of Russia.
In particular, the implementation of a "points system" is proposed for assessing the level of localization of production on the territory of our country for ATMs, cash sorting machines, devices for determining the authenticity of banknotes, as well as printers (except for label printers and receipt printers) and peripheral devices", – said the deputy head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vasily Shpak.
