Two more domestically developed ATMs have appeared in Russia. The devices are controlled by domestic software and built on a domestic hardware platform with an "Elbrus" processor.
In terms of functionality, the new products are no different from foreign counterparts. There is a large touch screen, a built-in camera for security, and a QR code scanner.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is considering introducing a point system for a number of devices, including ATMs.
«Over the past years, the point system has proven itself as an effective mechanism. It allows for an objective assessment of the level of localization and prevents foreign companies from receiving government support measures. With its help, domestic companies gain access to preferences that contribute to the accelerated development of production in Russia.
Further expansion of the list of products to which the point system is applied is also planned. For example, a draft point system for assessing the localization of medical equipment has been submitted to the Government. In addition, our department literally today submitted for public discussion a draft decree regulating the requirements for printers and banking equipment. In the part of banking equipment, we developed the project with the Central Bank of Russia.
In particular, it is planned to introduce a "point system" for assessing the level of production localization in our country for ATMs, counting and sorting machines, banknote authenticity verification devices, as well as printers (except for label printers and receipt printers) and peripheral devices,» – said Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Vasily Shpak.
