Testing of autonomous KAMAZ trucks will start on the M-11 highway between Moscow and Saint Petersburg

Later, tests will start on the M-12 highway

As reported by "MashTech", testing of autonomous trucks on the M-11 highway between Moscow and Saint Petersburg will start within a month. Later, "Avtodor" also plans to launch autonomous transport on the M-12 highway.

The first two out of five KAMAZ autonomous trucks with the fourth level of autonomy were assembled in February of this year, and up to 50 such tractors are planned to be produced in 2024. Initially, the cars will have operators (not behind the wheel, but in the passenger seat), but the cars will drive completely autonomously. Operators may be abandoned as early as 2025.

In December 2021, KAMAZ estimated its unmanned vehicle at 19 million rubles. But the price of the current upgraded machine is definitely more - about 22 million rubles. For comparison, the cost of a regular KAMAZ K5 is about 10 million rubles.
