Popular budget cars like Volkswagen Polo and Hyundai Solaris are no longer officially sold in Russia, but they can now be replaced by the budget sedan Changan Alsvin. According to Autostat, citing Rossiyskaya Gazeta, Changan dealers have already started receiving Alsvin, and official sales will start in June.
The sedan will be offered in two versions: LX for 1.65 million rubles and DLX for 1.71 million rubles. This is about the same price as the top Lada Vesta NG in the sedan and Cross versions.
The basic equipment includes a multifunctional steering wheel, central locking, light sensor, air conditioning, cruise control, parking assistance system, rear view camera, media system with a 7-inch screen and 4 speakers, the ERA-GLONASS complex, front airbags, ABS and ESP systems, and a hill start assist. The DLX version also includes tire pressure sensors, a Start-Stop system, and a sunroof.
The dimensions of the Changan Alsvin are 4390 x 1725 x 1490 mm, and the wheelbase is 2535 mm. Under the hood of the car is a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with a capacity of 107 hp, working in conjunction with a 5-speed robotic gearbox with a double "wet" clutch. The front suspension is independent, McPherson type, the rear is a torsion beam with hydraulic shock absorbers.
