Rostec has delivered a new Il-76MD-90A heavy military transport aircraft to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
It is made from domestic components and is a modernized version of the Il-76: flight range has been increased, the accuracy of navigation and landing has been improved, and the quality of radio communications has also become better. And the Il-76MD-90A can carry more payload. The aircraft was manufactured at the Aviastar branch of PJSC Il, which is part of the United Aircraft Corporation (part of Rostec).
It is noted that the ground and flight tests of the aircraft were successful, within the established time frame. Currently, Aviastar is producing several Il-76MD-90A transport aircraft in varying degrees of readiness - they should be assembled this year.
