As reported by TASS, citing employees of various Russian IT companies, American Adobe - the developer of popular applications Photoshop and Premiere Pro - began to automatically extend licenses for its software in Russia.
"For user licenses that were purchased through the official Adobe online store, there is the possibility of auto-renewal after card linking. Free extension may be perceived as a gift to those customers who cannot use their card to pay abroad in the current situation, to maintain loyalty and support their users during a difficult period", - explained an employee of one of the Russian IT companies. However, auto-renewal works only for individual licenses. As the source said, for corporate licenses, which are sold through official resellers, auto-renewal is not provided.
It is reported that the auto-renewal of the subscription appeared half a year ago. "You cannot buy a new subscription - you can only extend it for the products that the user already has. And we are talking specifically about individual user subscriptions", – the source said.
The possibility of automatic subscription renewal for Adobe products was previously stated by the CEO of the gaming studio Ninsar.Games, Egor Sechinsky. He said that the subscription to the Adobe package "is still active, but we have not paid for it for a year now".
