Development of asynchronous traction motors TAD430 and DTA-380U1 completed in Russia for main freight locomotive 2TE35A and electric train "Ivolga 3.0"

DTA-380U1 – the first Russian traction electric motor that can provide train acceleration up to 1 m/s2 and speed up to 160 km/h

In Russia, the development of two traction asynchronous motors for promising railway transport was completed almost simultaneously. Thus, TAD430 will be used in the new fully domestic two-section 16-axle main freight locomotive 2TE35A with electric transmission, and DTA-380U1 is being created for the newest high-speed DC train "Ivolga 3.0".

TAD430 was created and tested for two years, but in the end the design turned out to be reliable, and the motor itself is easy to service and unpretentious. Its weight is 2350 kg, efficiency – 96%. For this year, the production of an installation batch of 160 asynchronous traction motors is planned.

2TE35A is designed for driving heavy trains weighing up to 7100 tons, its design speed will reach 120 km/h.

As for DTA-380U1, the installation batch will be bigger here - 1500 units. “DTA-380U1 is the first Russian traction electric motor that can provide train acceleration up to 1 m/s2 and speed up to 160 km/h,” said the managing partner of the Rollingstock industry agency, Alexander Polikarpov.
