In Russia, they developed looms for creating drone parts

This technology will reduce the production cost of drones

As TASS reports, citing the National Technology Initiative (NTI) Platform, the Russian company "Carbontex" has developed looms for creating ultra-strong materials with various weaving of carbon fibers. These lightweight and strong materials are suitable for use in drones.

"The special strength and lightness of the obtained materials will allow them to be used for creating drones with improved aerodynamic and strength characteristics. The 3D weaving technology will significantly reduce the cost of production, including of polymer composite materials, due to a high degree of automation. The use of reinforcing fibers will also help eliminate the main disadvantage of composites that occurs during traditional production - their delamination during use", - told in NTI.

"[Loom] allows you to weave in width, length, and height, connecting two planes not only perpendicularly, but at any angle. This arrangement of fibers creates a very dense, voluminous, solid, and strong woven material. Its application in drone production will significantly increase their performance. Drones will become lighter, stronger, more controllable, and the payload will increase", - said Vyacheslav Rogozhnikov, the Director General of Carbontex.
