The Syzran Oil Refinery is one of the largest oil refining enterprises in the Samara region. The refinery is part of the Samara group of PAO "NK "Rosneft"", and its design capacity is 8.5 million tons of oil per year.
At its peak load, the plant provided about 3.1% of the total oil refining volume in the Russian fuel market. "Pervy Tekhnichesky" investigated how much gasoline the enterprise produces and what products it manufactures.
Modernization and transition to "digital"
The main vector of the refinery's development is the modernization program, the key stage of which was the launch of the FCC catalytic cracking complex. This allowed for a radical increase in oil refining depth and a complete restructuring of the technological chain.
It was the large-scale reconstruction of capacities that allowed the enterprise to become a key fuel supplier in the region and fully switch to industrial production of gasoline and diesel of the highest environmental standard "Euro-5".
How much oil the plant processes and how much gasoline it produces
The design capacity of the Syzran Refinery is 8.5 million tons of oil per year, while the actual load varies depending on scheduled maintenance and market conditions.
During periods of high load, the plant supplied about 1.5 million tons of commercial gasoline and 2 million tons of Euro-5 premium diesel fuel per year to the market. According to reporting data, the enterprise increased refining depth to 82.4%, and the total annual output of light petroleum products exceeded 3.6 million tons.
The increase in gasoline production was ensured, among other things, by technological changes in raw material reception. Two tanks with a volume of 5 thousand cubic meters each were installed at the enterprise, which allowed simultaneous reception and processing of light oil and gas condensate.
What the Syzran Refinery produces
The plant produces more than 20 types of petroleum products. The nomenclature includes automotive gasoline and diesel fuel of environmental class "Euro-5", low-sulfur marine fuel RMLS 40, liquefied petroleum gases, construction and road bitumens.
The Syzran Refinery continues to modernize secondary processes to increase the yield of the most valuable light petroleum products. Thanks to this, the enterprise manages to systematically reduce the share of fuel oil production in favor of high-octane fuel.
