The Pantsir S-1 SAMG, widely used in the Russian Armed Forces, is a key component of Russia's defense strategy. The complex is designed to combat a wide range of aerial threats, including drones, helicopters, low-flying aircraft, and cruise missiles.

Russian authorities have not officially reported on the supply of "Pantsir-S1" to North Korea. However, a Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership has been in effect between the countries since June 2024.
