IISS: In 2024, Russia spent $145.9 billion on military needs

The Defense Post cited data from a report by the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), which states that in 2024 Russia spent $145.9 billion on military needs. British analysts claim that this is 41% more than in 2023.

In December 2024, the head of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Andrei Belousov, stated that the level of spending on national defense reached 32.5% of the federal budget. This corresponds to 6.3% of GDP. The funds are used to strengthen the Armed Forces.
