The newest Oghab surface-to-air missile (SAM) was shown at an exhibition of achievements in the field of space and defense in Tehran. The missile turned out to be a copy of the Russian SAM 9M331. This was reported by military expert Yuri Lyamin.

About the 9M331 SAM

The 9M331 missile is designed according to the "duck" aerodynamic configuration. The controlled flight of the missile is provided by onboard radio control equipment, autopilot and a command unit. The missile's combat equipment consists of an active radio fuse, a safety-executive mechanism and a high-explosive fragmentation warhead. The Tor-M1 air defense system is equipped with such SAMs.
