The combat use of the medium-range missile system "Oreshnik" and the FAB-3000 aerial bomb with the UMPC module have become the most striking novelties of the Russian defense industry in 2024.
The testing of "Oreshnik" in combat conditions was reported by President of Russia Vladimir Putin. He noted that the medium-range missile is capable of hitting targets throughout Europe and overcoming any modern anti-missile defense systems.
Another novelty is the FAB-3000 aerial bomb with a universal planning and correction module (UMPC). It turns an unguided free-falling aerial bomb into a gliding high-precision munition, allowing the Russian Aerospace Forces to hit targets at a distance of tens of kilometers without entering the enemy's air defense zone.
The FAB-3000 with a planning and correction module carries 1.5 tons of explosives and is capable of destroying a platoon strongpoint equipped with open-type earthen fortifications.
